Exhibitor statements on the trade fair and the congress

June 27, 2019

LASER World of PHOTONICS and the World of Photonics Congress 2019 were a great success. Read in the statements of the exhibitors of the LASER World of PHOTONICS 2019 and the conference participants of the World of Photonics Congress 2019 what the particular highlights were and what makes these events unique.

Dr. Wilhelm Kaenders, Chairman of the LASER World of PHOTONICS Advisory Board and Member of the Board of Management (CTO) of TOPTICA:

“The LASER World of PHOTONICS, exhibition and Congress, are indispensable components of a globally operating key industry. This is where the latest laser technology trends and innovations are to be experienced that are helping to change our life for the better on a daily basis. For example, we use the trade fair to present and promote developments in the quantum sensor, quantum computing and secure communication fields into new spectral ranges.”

Sascha Grusche, Head of Research and Co-Founder, APICBEAM:
“We were very pleased with the visits to the stand by specialists who gave us food for thought and who are important partners in our development. We also had the opportunity to talk with optical component manufacturers who are critically important to creating our APICBEAM display. Our very personal trade fair highlight was of course winning the start-up award.”

Dr. Andreas Nitze, President and CEO, Berliner Glas KGaA Herbert Kubatz GmbH & Co.:
“2019 confirmed yet again that LASER World of PHOTONICS is one of the most important photonics trade fairs in the world. We again used our trade fair presence to meet numerous national and international customers, suppliers and competitors, discuss specific projects, report on our innovations and find out about new developments. The trade fair, high quality congresses and user forums afford a comprehensive overview of the latest trends in photonics technologies and applications. We again received valuable input. We are already looking forward to LASER World of PHOTONICS 2021.”

Oliver Neutert, Marketing Manager EMEA and Asia, Excelitas:
“Because LASER World of PHOTONICS is our most important leading trade fair, we attend with our entire product portfolio and our biggest trade fair stand. The number and quality of the visitors on our stand every two years never fails to impress us. We will be back exhibiting in 2021.”

Denise Thim, Director Communication & Marketing, Jenoptik:
“LASER World of PHOTONICS is one of our most important photonics events. With our extensive technology portfolio spanning optics, laser technology, digital image processing, software, optoelectronics and sensor technology, we cover a high proportion of the trade fair’s key topic areas. Once again, this year we showcased new solutions for laser material processing, biophotonics and industrial applications. Interesting discussions with customers and prospects were the opportunity for an in-depth exchange on trends and new ideas.”

Patrick Paul, CEO, Laser Components GmbH:
“For us LASER World of PHOTONICS is an important barometer for the development of the industry. This year it exceeded all expectations. We were able to build on our relationships with existing customers and establish contact with new customers from sectors that were not previously at the forefront of our interest. I am certain that this will yield exciting new projects. Trade fair visitors displayed particularly keen interest in our sensors and the optical coatings where solutions enabling ever higher laser performance are in demand.”

Martin Hermatschweiler, Managing Director Nanoscribe:
“LASER World of PHOTONICS is a special trade fair for us. On the one hand because, as a German company, we are, so to speak, playing at home while at the same time reaching very many of the target groups of relevance to us from around the world. But above all because our laser-based 3D microfabrication technology fits in perfectly here with the wide range of fabrication, material processing, measuring and testing, imaging and finally also 3D microfabrication applications. We are also very gratified to have the Innovation Award in our hands. After a very intensive technical development phase, this is a major accolade for our team and for the outstanding performance of our new Quantum X maskless lithography system.”

Bill Casey, Senior Director Marketing Communications, Newport Spectra-Physics GmbH:
“LASER World of PHOTONICS was an outstanding opportunity for MKS to showcase all our products, solutions and services for all laser and photonics markets. We achieved our goal and made contact with existing and new customers. This was a unique opportunity for us to assist them in solving their most complex problems. LASER World of PHOTONICS is an integral part of our go-to-market strategy and we are planning to take part in future years as well.”

Jessica Müller, Marketing Coordinator, Satisloh:
“The decision to double our stand space was spot on. Once again this year, LASER World of PHOTONICS proved to be an absolute “must-have” trade fair for us as a supplier of machines and process solutions in the optical manufacturing arena. This is also why we chose this venue to launch our new grinding and polishing machines for micro-optics in the < 1 - 10 mm diameter range, SPM-10 and SPS-10. We are very satisfied with the way the trade fair has gone and why we will also certainly be exhibiting here the next time.”

Udo Reitz, Sales Director EMEA Advanced Optics, SCHOTT AG:
“The trade fair is very important to Schott, with a particular focus on networking with customers. Schott will be back again in 2021.“

Klaus Löffler, Managing Director and responsible for sales and service, TRUMPF laser technology:
“Personally speaking, I always very much look forward to LASER World of PHOTONICS and this year has confirmed yet again that this is where the Who’s Who of the laser world meets! The trade fair was a resounding success for TRUMPF. We had good discussions – with old acquaintances, but also and especially with numerous new potential customers from varying sectors who come to us with very different application issues. The inquiries were very wide-ranging and it was once again evident that we are able to provide exactly what visitors need with our diversified offering of application solutions, technologies and beam sources. We were particularly gratified to have won the Innovation Award for our 1 kilowatt green CW Laser with a beam quality of 2 mm mrad. This new laser emphasizes the diversity of disk laser technology applications. The 515 nanometer wavelength laser beam enables unprecedented weld seam quality and energy efficiency even with highly reflective materials such as copper. The laser is therefore ideally suited to electro-mobility, power electronics and electro mechanics. The award is a wonderful confirmation of our capacity for innovation and customer proximity.”

Prof. Carsten Danzmann, Director of the Institute for Gravitational Physics at the University of Hanover and Director of the Albert Einstein Institute:
“The World of Photonics Congress is an opportunity to exchange experiences at the very highest level – highly topical issues concerning the future of photonics are discussed from a scientific perspective within just five days. It also explores the question of which technologies are becoming relevant and what the consequential benefits are for scientific and ultimately also industrial use.”

Prof. Gérard Mourou, Nobel Prize winner in physics 2018:
“A trade fair such as LASER World of PHOTONICS demonstrates what a bright future laser has. Not just in the laboratory, but in society as well.”

The next LASER World of PHOTONICS will take place from June 21 to 24, 2021 at the Messe München site and the next World of Photonics Congress from June 20 to 24, 2021.
